Second annual golf tournament held

The Maui Adult Baseball League hosted its 2nd annual golf tournament last Saturday at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course. In total, 72 golfers competed in the four-man scramble, with the top three teams facing off on a playoff hole on hole 18 while other participants watched from the post-tournament banquet at Fuego Argentinean Steakhouse. The event raised approximately $2000 that will go towards the 2025 MABL Youth Clinic and league expenses.

Prizes were awarded to:

  • 1st Place: Ramona’s FAL Souljahs
  • 2nd Place: Any Kine
  • 3rd Place: Stiff Shafts
  • Closest to the Pin (Hole 3): Moku Loo (23’7″)
  • Closest to the Pin (Hole 6): Bill Hess (4’3.5″)

In addition, many participants walked away from the post-tournament reception with raffle prizes donated by a number of local and national organizations; most notably a custom glove donated by Richard Vasquez of BK Gloves – which was won by John Lamb – and a pair of VIP tickets to see reggae group Rebelution at the MACC on February 7 – won by Brian Christina.

Mahalo to Lief Smith and The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course and the banquet staff at Fuego Argentinean Steakhouse for welcoming the MABL for the tournament, and mahalo to all the participants, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make this event such a success!
