The 33rd season of Maui Adult Baseball League action came to a close on Sunday as the Makai All-Star team put up 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th to pull off the 7-4 win over the Mauka All-Star team at Eddie Tam Memorial Park in Makawao.
Following the All-Star Game, 8 of the league’s top power hitters battled for the chance to claim the MABL HR Derby Champion Belt. Despite blustery conditions, 5 different hitters went deep, with a total of 20 home runs hit throughout the Derby. In the final round, the Centipedes’ Ian Josh hit 5 longballs to edge out teammate Davin Lewis (4 home runs) to take home the title for the season consecutive season.
In addition to the going home with the Champion Belt, Josh will receive a custom wood bat for his performance! Full derby results are listed below.
