The 35th season of Maui Adult Baseball League action came to a close on Sunday as the Mauka All-Star team rolled to a 8-3 win over the Makai All-Star team at Eddie Tam Memorial Park in Makawao. Brian Christina went the distance in his final game before moving off-island, while Mike Abercrombie homered and finished the day with 3 hits for Team Mauka.
Following the All-Star Game, 10 of the league’s top power hitters battled for the chance to claim the MABL HR Derby Champion Belt. In total, 7 different hitters went deep, with a total of 36 home runs hit throughout the Derby. In the final round, the West Maui Brewers’ Quinton Pedroza hit 8 longballs to edge out Kanale Kahalekai (7 home runs) and the defending Derby champion Matt Palmer (6 home runs) to take home the title for the Spring 2026 season.
In addition to the going home with the Champion Belt, Pedroza will receive a custom wood bat for his performance! Full derby results are listed below.
