MABL Youth Clinic May 22

Due to the overwhelming amount of player registrations we’ve received to this point, we’ve been forced to close the registration form in order to ensure all participants get the best possible experience from the clinic. All players who have already submitted a registration form will be receiving an email confirming their spot in the clinic. Thank you for your understanding!

The Maui Adult Baseball League will be hosting a free youth clinic for keiki ages 8-12 at Iron Maehara Baseball Stadium on Sunday, May 22. The instructional clinic will begin at 9:00am and run approximately 2.5 hours. Fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and pitching will be covered by former professional and collegiate baseball players who are members of Maui’s wood bat adult baseball league, with the goal of providing an incredible experience and morning of quality instruction to Maui’s youngest baseball players.

Players should wear a hat, baseball pants, rubber cleats (or sneakers), and bring a glove and water. Players may bring their own bat and helmet if they have them. Any additional questions about the clinic can be submitted here.

Following the clinic, players and their families are welcome to stay and cheer for their favorite coaches as the MABL’s Spring Season Playoffs continue with afternoon games at Maehara Stadium.

A few of the coaches for the MABL Youth Clinic are introduced below!

Bryant Sparkman enjoyed a standout collegiate baseball career as a pitcher and infielder at Division 1 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Bryant, who will be leading the on-field portion of the clinic, has been a coach for Maui High’s baseball program and is a current member of the Central Rays of the MABL.

John Lamb pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Angels from 2014 through 2018 before joining the Lahaina Warriors this Spring. The former Major Leaguer now shares his knowledge and passion for the game through his organization Baseballscool, and he is excited to help out with the clinic.

Ryan Groth was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels as an outfielder out of Division 1 Oral Roberts University in 2008. After a couple years of affiliated and independent league baseball, Ryan brought his talents to Maui as a member of the Central Rays.
