Enmanuel “Manny” Yajure Pena of the West Maui Brewers was voted the October 2018 Maui Adult Baseball League Player of the Month, receiving 53% of the record 136 votes cast online. This is Manny’s second POTM honor, after winning previously in March 2018. The Brewers’ pitcher and third baseman led the league with a .778/.833/1.333 AVG/OBP/SLG line in three October games, with 3 runs scored, 4 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases, as well as his 2nd home run of the season. On the mound, he was 1-0 with a save, a 3.38 ERA, .200 opponent batting average, 1.25 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 16 innings.
In recognition of his achievement, Manny will receive a redesigned MABL t-shirt. This season the Player of the Month award has been presented by Betty’s Beach Cafe, located at 505 Front Street in Lahaina.
