Pirates, Royals win to advance

This will be the 3rd consecutive season that these two teams have faced off with a trip to the Championship Series on the line; the Pirates have prevailed in each of the past two seasons.

The Makena Royals topped the Kihei Centipedes in the 1:15pm game on November 10. The Royals’ Mitchell Crim sparked a two-run 8th inning with a one out triple as the Royals came from behind to defeat Centipedes’ ace Randy Button. The Royals will face the West Maui Brewers in the 2nd round of the playoffs, beginning with the 10:00am game on November 17. The Royals have not advanced this deep into the playoffs since the Spring 2017 season, when they lost in the Championship Series to the Pirates. The Brewers will be trying make their 4th straight Championship Series appearance.
