‘Pedes clinch, 2 spots remain

With a 8-4 victory over the Makena Royals, the Kihei Centipedes punched their ticket to the MABL playoffs this weekend. The ‘Pedes join the La Perouse Pirates, West Maui Brewers, and Central Rays as teams that have clinched a playoff spot. With two weeks left of the regular season, the Lahaina Warriors, Royals, and Upcountry Dirtbags are still in the chase for the final two spots.

The Warriors (4-7-1) currently hold the #5 seed, with remaining games against the Royals and Rays. The Royals (4-8) are currently in the #6 spot, and play the Warriors next week, followed by the Brewers to wrap up the season. The Dirtbags (3-8-1) will need some help, as they are a half game back of the final spot with games remaining against the Hurricanes and Centipedes.

The Brewers, Rays, and Pirates are in contention for the 1st round bye. With a 4-1 win over the Pirates on Sunday, the Brewers (10-2) moved into a 1 game lead for the league’s top record. The Rays (9-3) and Pirates (8-3) will meet next weekend in Kihei, with the winner controlling the second bye seed at the end of the day.
