Interisland tournament and fundraiser

The first ever interisland series between the Maui Adult Baseball League and the Honolulu Baseball League will be played on Oahu over Labor Day weekend. The round-robin style tournament will kick off Saturday, September 2 at Goeas Field with the All-MABL team playing the HBL Open Division All-Star team at 11:30am, followed by the reigning MABL champion Kihei Centipedes playing the HBL Division 2 All-Star team at 3:00pm.

The Centipedes and the All-MABL team will play each other at 9am Sunday, September 3 at Ala Wai Park while the two Oahu teams play at Goeas Field. The tournament will conclude that afternoon with a pair of 1:00pm games; the All-MABL team will face the HBL D2 team at Goeas, while the Centipedes will play HBL Open team at Ala Wai.

Games will be 9 innings except for the two Sunday afternoon games, which will be 7 innings. The team with the best record will be crowned tournament champions, with head-to-head results of tied opponents serving as the tie-breaker if needed.

Following the Saturday afternoon game, the HBL will be hosting a fundraiser event at 7pm at the AnyPlace Cocktail Lounge with proceeds going to MABL players directly affected by the recent wildfires on Maui. Tickets to the event will include food and drinks and can be purchased in advance for $35 each. Affected MABL players in attendance will received a complimentary ticket, courtesy of the Honolulu Baseball League.
