The Makena Royals are the Maui Adult Baseball League Spring 2022 champions after defeating the Upcountry Dirtbags in the Championship Series two games to one. The Royals have won back-to-back MABL titles, and three of the last four dating back to the Summer 2020 season.
After a convincing 10-1 Royals win in game 1 of the series, the Dirtbags walked off in the bottom of the ninth in game 2 to even the series. The Royals answered with a 6-1 victory in the decisive game 3.
Congratulations to both teams for tremendous seasons. The MABL All-Star Game and HR Derby will be held next week in Makawao, coinciding with the MABL Food Drive to benefit the Maui Food Bank.
