Vote for September POTM

The first two months of the Maui Adult Baseball League’s Summer 2024 season is in the books and the playoff picture is starting to take shape. The five candidates for the September 2024 MABL Player of the Month poll have played in big role in helping to get their teams to where they are, but only one can earn the POTM nod!

The Player of the Month award for September 2024 is presented by Makawao Public House! Open from 4-9pm Mon-Thurs, and 4-10pm Fri-Sun on Baldwin Ave, Makawao Public House offers 4pm happy hour daily, as well as live music 4:30pm-6:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. Participants in the MABL Golf Tournament on November 16 will have the opportunity to sample some of their delicious offerings at the Makawao Public House Pupu Hole during the event!

Chuck Gibson made 3 appearances on the mound for the Kihei Centipedes in September, going 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA over 12.0 innings. Gibson also led the MABL with 6 RBIs, hitting .455 (5 for 11) with a 1.000 OPS over that span.

John Lamb put the Lahaina Warriors on his back last month, going 3-0 with 38 Ks and a 0.72 ERA over 25.0 IP. Lamb got it done at the plate as well, leading the league with a 1.383 OPS and 3 doubles over 3 games.

Welcome back, Peter Reyes! The Spring 2022 MABL Cy Young and Rookie of the Year award winner went 1-0 with 16 Ks over 9.0 innings for the Dirtbags in September. At the plate, Reyes hit .364 (4 for 11) with 3 RBIs over 3 games.

The West Maui Brewers’ Lance Simpson picked up where he left off in August, with another tremendous month at the plate. Over 3 games, Simpson slashed .538/.538/.692 with 3 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. The rookie’s 7 hits led the league in September.

Aaron Wise of the Kaanapali Coast Monarchs added to a strong rookie campaign, hitting .385 (5 for 13) with a pair of doubles over 4 games last month. Wise enters October hitting .450 on the season, good for third in the league thus far.
