Vote for February POTM

The first month of the Spring 2025 season is in the books with five teams vying for a share of first place as we head into March. One player from each of these squads was selected as a candidate for the February 2025 MABL Player of the Month poll, based on their roles in their respective team’s early success!

The Player of the Month award for February 2025 is presented by Northpointe Bank; the MABL appreciates the support of Dan Bardenhagen at Northepointe Bank for sponsoring the Makena Tiger Sharks during their inaugural season!

Adam Chesick of the La Perouse Pirates leads the league in batting average (.600) and hits (6) after coming up big in his squad’s wins against the Monarchs (3 for 5, 3 RBI) and Gorillas (3 for 5, 1 RBI) to close out February.

Reigning MABL MVP opened up the Spring 2025 season John Lamb by tossing a 3-hit, 15 K, complete game shutout of the defending champs on January 26 and following that up with a 10 inning complete game, 14 K effort against the Brewers on February 16. Combined Lamb has yet to allow an earned run in 19.0 innings of work, allowing just 8 hits and 1 walk while striking out 29 over that span.

The Centipedes’ Ryan Swindle is hitting .500 (5 for 10) with a double and triple so far, good for a 4.4 RC over his first three games of the season. In addition, Swindle has tossed 4 scoreless innings over two outings, holding opponents to a .077 average and 0.50 WHIP.

Ekolu Watanabe is off to a huge start to his second season with the Nahiku Gorillas, batting .462 (6 for 13) with a home run, 2 stolen bases, and a league-leading 9 RBIs through the first 3 games of the season.

The Monarchs’ Aaron Wise is picking up where he left off after a tremendous rookie season, slashing .556/.667/.778 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with 4.5 runs created through three games. With his fast start, Wise has raised his career average through 16 games to .451 (23 for 51).
