The 30th season of Maui Adult Baseball League action came to a close on Sunday as the Mauka team, comprised of All-Stars from the Upcountry Dirtbags, La Perouse Pirates, and Nahiku Gorillas, defeated the Makai team by a final of 9-5 at Eddie Tam Park in Makawao.
Following the All-Star Game, 10 of the league’s top power hitters battled in rainy conditions for the chance to hoist the MABL HR Derby Champion Belt. Eight different hitters went deep, with a total of 31 home runs hit throughout the Derby. In the final round, the Pirates’ Elias Steadman hit 4 longballs to edge out defending champion Callen Beeson.
In addition to the going home with the Champion Belt, Steadman will receive a custom wood bat for his performance! Full derby results are listed below.
