The 32nd season of Maui Adult Baseball League action came to a close on Sunday as the Makai team, made up of All-Stars from the Kihei Centipedes, West Maui Brewers, La Perouse Pirates, and Nahiku Gorillas, jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning by a final of 9-3 at Eddie Tam Memorial Park in Makawao.
Following the All-Star Game, 10 of the league’s top power hitters battled for the chance to claim the MABL HR Derby Champion Belt. Eight different hitters went deep, with a total of 44 home runs hit throughout the Derby. In the final round, the Centipedes’ Ian Josh hit 4 longballs to edge out Pedro Ríos and two-time defending champ Elias Steadman (2 each) to take home the title.
In addition to the going home with the Champion Belt, Josh will receive a custom wood bat for his performance! Full derby results are listed below.

We were not able to see the home run derby on YouTube today. But just now found out that our son Ian Josh won the Home Run Derby Championship. We r so proud of him and his career do far in MauiAdult Baseball League. Congrats and love son.
