The Upcountry Dirtbags and Lahaina Warriors won their 1st Round Playoff matchups and will advance to the best-of-three semi-final round beginning this weekend.
The Dirtbags knocked off the West Maui Brewers 6-4 after scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th. Lefty Trevor Caughey earned the win by throwing 5 scoreless innings in relief, while 2-time MABL MVP Tim Page reached base 3 times and scored twice for the Dirtbags. To advance to the Championship Series, the Dirtbags will need to defeat the defending champion Kihei Centipedes.
The Warriors pulled off the win in a back-and-forth battle with the Kaanapali Coast Monarchs. Reigning MABL MVP John Lamb had 4 hits and earned the win with 3 scoreless innings to close the game for the Warriors. To return to the MABL Championship Series, the Warriors will need to beat the top-seeded La Perouse Pirates.
